About Loadout Match
Loadout Match is a free tool that answers a deceptively hard question: which optic, light, or laser actually fits my firearm, and which one makes sense for how I use it? Red dot footprints, adapter plates, rail standards, and magnification or output choices trip up even experienced shooters. We turn that guesswork into a clear, verified answer.
What we do
Start with your firearm. We show every optic, light, and laser in our catalog that fits it, and exactly how each one mounts — directly, or via which adapter plate or rail. We don't stop at “it fits,” either: we flag suitability— whether an optic's magnification suits your platform's effective range, and whether a light's beam suits how you'd actually use the gun — so you don't over- or under-spec your build.
We also publish interactive drop charts for every major cartridge — pick your load, barrel length, and zero to see the bullet's drop and holdovers in MOA and MIL, so you can choose a reticle and know the optic suits how far you actually shoot.
How we get it right
Our compatibility data — footprints, rails, mounting interfaces, and the adapters that bridge them — is researched and verified per model, not scraped or guessed. It's the part most sources get wrong, and the part we work hardest to get right. We cover hundreds of popular firearms across pistols, rifles, shotguns, and more, and we're always adding to it.
How we stay free
Loadout Match is reader-supported. When you buy through a link to one of our retail partners, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That's what keeps the tool free — and it never changes which products we show you as compatible. See our affiliate disclosure for details.
A note on safety and accuracy
Compatibility, suitability, and ballistic figures are provided as general guidance. Always confirm fit for your specific firearm and optic before purchasing, follow the manufacturer's instructions, observe safe firearm handling and all applicable laws, and verify ballistics at the range. Some products may be regulated in your state — verify your local laws. Our full disclaimer is in the Terms of Service.
